The Permanent Account Number (PAN) is a 10-digit alpha-numeric code issued by the Income Tax Department under the supervision of the Central Board of Direct Taxes. If your PAN card is lost, you can apply for a duplicate by completing the “Request for New PAN Card or/and Changes or Correction in PAN Data” form and attaching a copy of the FIR.
PAN card holders can also download an instant e-PAN or a digital version of their PAN card using the income tax department’s online portal.

Step 1: Visit the official website, tin-nsdl.com.
Step 2: On the homepage, click ‘Services’ and select the ‘PAN’ option. A new page will open.
Step 3: Scroll down to ‘Reprint of PAN card,’ then click on ‘Apply.’
Step 4: You’ll see a new page titled ‘Online PAN Application.’

Step 5: Under ‘Application type,’ choose ‘Changes or corrections in existing PAN data/Reprint of PAN card (No changes in existing PAN data).’
Step 6: Choose a category.
Step 7: Fill in all of the required information and submit the form.
Step 8: After submitting your request, you will receive a message confirming it with a Token Number. Keep this number for future reference and click ‘Continue with the PAN Application Form.’
Step 9: Enter the required information, select the mode of submission (Digital, Scanned, or Physical), and fill out the ‘Personal details,’ ‘Contact & other details,’ and ‘Document details’ sections. Submit the form.
NOTE: You will be directed to the payment page. After making the payment, you can check the status of your duplicate PAN card using the 15-digit acknowledgement number generated during the application process.
