Jio is a Telecommunication service provider. when it launched in 2016 after that its users are increasing day by day. you can switch to jio network either by buying a new connection or porting your number to jio. Jio allows you to port your mobile number to both its prepaid and postpaid services and with both channels online and offline. You have to keep your original address proof handy with you. It could either be a driving license or any identity proof document. Jio also provides doorstep delivery of new sim card or you can visit your nearest retailer store to port your number. You can also use the Myjio App on your phone to book the new delivery of a sim. if you want to port your number to jio there is a simple process to follow.
Porting of your Mobile Number to Jio Offline
Step 1: First of all SMS PORT(10 digit Mobile number)to 1900 from your mobile number.
Step 2: Then after that you will receive a message that will have the UPC code and its expiry date.
Step 3: Then visit your nearest jio store retailer with that UPC(Unique Porting Code)
Step 4: You have to carry your original Adhaar Card any Original address proof /identity proof documents to place that MNP request.
The MNP Process takes 48 Hours if there is a intra circle port But if you are changing your telecom circle it takes around four days.The porting process is expected to take 15 days in case of Jammu and Kashmir, Assam and Customers in North India
Porting of your Mobile Number to Jio Online
The online Booking of Jio connections is limited to postpaid connections .However you can ask the executive visiting your place to give you a prepaid sim.
Step 1: Visit the Jio site https://www.jio.com/index.html
and enter your Full name and 10 digit mobile number
Step 2: Now Generate the OTP button Then a six digit OTP will send to your mobile number.
Step 3: You need to enter the number and validate the OTP button.
Step 4: then the site will take you to a screen where you have to enter your address details. it will ask you your locality, Pin code ,Flat number Locality and landmark
Step 5: you will now see confirm button and need to click to submit your sim delivery request
After this a Jio executive calls you to get an appointment for the delivery of a new sim.You need to ask them for the MNP facility on the call and generate a UPC from your Mobile phone by sending an SMS of ‘PORT’ to 1900 along with your 10 digit Mobile number. The code you get will be valid for 4 days only 30 days in case of Jammu and Kashmir. You had to share that code along with an address proof and ID proof with the executive visiting your place.
